Homos Hobos and the Holy Hereafter A Bold Faith Fiction Novel Confronts Spiritual Stigma Identity and Acceptance

In a cultural moment where discussions of faith sexuality and belonging are often marked by polarization rather than understanding, Homos, Hobos and the Holy Hereafter arrives as a daring and timely work of fiction that invites honest reflection and meaningful dialogue.

Written by Rev. Ryan Althaus, this modern parable follows the intertwined journeys of two deeply marginalized figures Caleb a hapless hobo and Cameron a heretical homo. Their paths collide in an evolutionary afterlife encounter with a deity neither can fully name nor claim. Through this unexpected meeting the novel explores long standing socio economic and spiritual stigmas while challenging readers to confront their own internalized biases.

Blending theology storytelling and social commentary, Homos, Hobos and the Holy Hereafter draws on the ancient tradition of myth and narrative that predates written religion itself. Althaus uses fiction as a tool to examine how belief systems are formed sustained and weaponized, offering insight that resonates with readers across the entire spectrum of faith from devout believers to skeptics and seekers alike.

The Living Church Episcopalian Publication describes the novel as an entertaining and educational dive into an undeniably divisive topic noting its willingness to explore terrain many are reluctant to approach.

As the first novel published by Cyclical Press and one of the few works of progressive faith fiction, Homos, Hobos and the Holy Hereafter seeks to open the door to a new wave of ecumenical literature. It is a faith expanding story that does not aim to provide definitive answers but rather encourages compassion curiosity and courageous self examination.

Readers are invited to journey alongside Caleb and Cameron as they wrestle with acceptance identity and belief in a story that challenges convention and invites transformation.
